The Little Rockers Review & Dad’s thoughts.
Alexander (6 years old):

The best part of Call of the Wild 2022 was spending time with Daddy. I also enjoyed the food and drink. The sweet selection was awesome and I had a big, ginormous lolly! I had cans of 7up and coke, as well as donuts – they were especially yummy. We also had burgers and noodles. The area for food was nice and had chairs to sit on and enjoy a cheeky nap!
I made some friends, that played football with me. I liked the music but it was a bit loud near the front.

Adam (9 years old):
Call Of The Wild 2022 was very good, I liked the food the most. The noodles from Panda noodles were excellent as they had chicken and a nice sauce.
My favourite band was Massive Wagons, especially the first song they played. I also liked the shoutout and dedication to someone’s birthday.
I loved the cake stall, I had a Malteser cake and it was really good!
The layout of the venue was good with plenty of space which meant that I didn’t get lost. I was with my friend Logan and we found our way around with ease as it wasn’t too big. Everyone was really friendly and kind. It was at Lincolnshire Showground which is only 5 minutes from our house, so we just went home at the end of the night.

Matthew (11 years old):
I had an amazing weekend at Call Of The Wild 2022 because I met Mark Ellis of Mark Ellis Photography who was really nice and kind and let me stand with him to take pictures. I wasn’t due to be allowed in the pit area to photograph or on stage so it was the most amazing experience. I took most of the pictures in our gallery from this weekend.
The bands were great and some even gave me the thumbs up, sang into my camera, posed for pictures and gave me their guitar plectrums.
I also spent time with our family friend Kev who presents The Rock Train on Siren FM in Lincoln. He interviewed some of the bands while I took pictures of them. They were all super nice.
My favourite bands were Midnight City and Massive Wagons. Archie and the Astronaut’s were great too and very friendly.
Massive Wagons stage show was great with all of the fire and sparks and smoke, great photo experience.
Cannot wait until next year!

Bethany (9 years old):
The stalls were very good at Call Of The Wild 2022. It was great that it was at the Lincolnshire Showground as it meant I could bring my neighbour (Violet) too. We spent time browsing the stalls and spending my Dad’s money! We bought some earrings for £4 from Pirate Cat Creations and she even gave us a 30 day return policy! We also bought stick on tattoos, alien toys, alien putting, gold putty and unicorn putty, a glow wand, a crystal bracelet, and a crystal for my room! Violet and I both got braids in our hair. We chose the colours and the beads to go on the ends. You can see my youtube video of what we bought here.
As for the food vendors, we had some delicious Malteser cake from Daff and Dill as well as pick n mix sweets. Another stall sold us a brain licker sweet too!
We lived on Donuts, very delicious burgers, noodles as well as coke and lemonade from the VIP area. A great weekend!
We all had a great weekend and can’t wait to experience it all again next year, everyone is so laid back and really friendly.
Roll on 2023!!! We will be back.

Dads thoughts:
What a great weekend we had as a family! Although I attended Call Of The Wild 2022 on Thursday the children didn’t join me until Friday, so it gave me time to check out the site and beer facilities! Camping was very near the arena and there were 2 main stages side by side (very European) and a third stage situated in a tent at the back of the arena. Plenty of green space to allow standing, sitting, or playing as some of the youngsters did. Food stalls and other vendors and sellers were on the outside of the arena as well as a lovely woodland VIP area too. All toilets were hard standing and clean too.
Everyone was all so nice during the whole event to the children and I, from festival-goers, stallholders, security, bands, photographers, and finally the event organisers.
Matthew was taking pictures of people and the bands and was spotted by one of the organisers and was invited into the photo pit to get some close-up shots, he was then introduced to a few other photographers and also the event photographer too, a Mark Ellis. All the photographers took Matthew under their wing (especially Tina Sherwood from The Forge Music Group) and gave him hints and tips and an experience that money just cannot buy.
All my other little rockers were content to listen to the music, shop, and enjoy the food and atmosphere. I felt safe enough to enjoy myself with friends with the children returning every once in a while to update me on the goings-on and to raid my wallet.
The festival is very local to us, but even if it were 200 miles away I’d still have no issues in giving the whole experience a 10/10 and have already purchased tickets for us all next year. Join us, we look forward to seeing you there next year 26th – 28th May 2023.

Call of the Wild – Lincoln – Day 1
So after a 3-year delay, the festival returned to the Lincolnshire Showground!
I arrived on my own, (children still at school) in the early afternoon and parked my car, checked in, and walked to the campsite to claim tent space. Everyone working for the festival was great and very helpful, and the campers were also a cheerful bunch. Getting to this point was easy and it only took 10 minutes….setting the tent, was slightly longer!

But I got there, this photo doesn’t do it justice, but I was proud non the less.
Access to the arena from the campsite/tent or car park is easy and is only about a 2-minute walk. Worth noting that the toilets are clean and are hard standing in a toilet block.
This is one of the great things about the layout of the festival – everything is close by with none of the long walking associated with larger festivals.
The weather all day was glorious until the sun went down, then slightly chilly but nothing that a hoodie didn’t solve. Click for our gallery
Call of the Wild – Lincoln – 2022!
We are pleased to announce that we will be attending the Call of the Wild Festival at the Lincolnshire Show Ground next weekend. Such a great local event and the first time in 3 years it has been run due to the pandemic.
We will all be there throughout the weekend, capturing the atmosphere with video and pictures and providing daily posts as the weekend progresses.
This festival is really good value as weekend tickets include parking and camping as standard. There are full weekend tickets and day tickets available and under 10’s are FREE with over 10’s ticket price being 50% of an adult ticket.
Weekend and day tickets are available at*:
https://www.gigantic.com/call-of-the-wild-festival-tickets
*Please note we are not affiliated with the festival, but it’s always good to promote where we go as the more people the merrier.
Just look at all the bands on offer over the weekend.

If you need any more convincing then check out the festival playlist on Spotify, Dad has been playing it throughout the house for the past few weeks! He says it’ll mean we recognise some of the songs when we get there.
