We have just heard of Tina’s passing and as a family, we are all gutted. We first met Tina at the Call of the Wild festival and as you can see from the photo she struck a very nice bond with Matthew at the festival over the following 3 days, and always gave me a glowing report on his behavior when we caught up each day. She genuinely cared for and helped nurture him at the festival.
When we went on our 7-week adventure during the summer, she was always commenting on our blogs/posts, and was always very positive about the children’s writing and our photos.
When I (Dad) went to see Ugly Kid Joe at Nottingham Rock City in October I spotted TIna taking shots and I grabbed five minutes with her when she left the pit. I would never have normally done this with most people but I genuinely thought she was a lovely lady and I wanted to say hi and thank her for her comments whilst we were away. She immediately knew who I was and commented about our adventure, and asked after the family and Matthew, it was nice to catch up and she had such a lovely attitude and personality, as all who knew her would agree.
So tonight, when I read Facebook and comments on several people’s posts who were all in shock and who all said the same things about how wonderful Tina was, I then had to tell Matthew…..his face was sad with a couple of tears and Lucy was also shocked as she had also communicated with Tina since the festival and our summer adventure.
Although we only just met her this year, she has had a positive and lasting effect on us all as a family.
Tina; shine brightly up there, take lots of photos, and keep on inspiring people. We will always remember you. RIP
