This was our first festival as a threesome at Download 2019. Dad (Mark) has been going every year since it was called the Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1990.

I am Matthew on the left and above, I was first taken to a festival; Sonisphere with my dad when I was 3 years old, the first band I saw was Limp Bizkit and over that weekend I also saw the Prodigy, Metallica and many others. I was also ill on the Sunday morning from way too much chocolate and junk food the day before (Dad’s fault). I remember everyone was so nice and I received high five’s from everyone and free food from a food vendor we stood next to most of the weekend.

I have always liked live music ever since and now I am learning to play the drums, I’m also a keen gamer and also interested in anything technological. I am now 13 and enjoy going with my Dad to festivals annually including Download since 2015, Stonedead, Rockin The Bowl and The Call Of The Wild Festival which are local to us in the Midlands.

Meet The Little Rockers and Dad!

I am Adam on the right. I first went to a festival (Download) with my dad and brother in 2017 when I was 6 years old and had a great time, camping and experiencing the sights, sounds, and smells (toilets not so much!) Everyone was super cool with us and I loved it. I am a very keen photographer and avid gamer and footballer and I like to document what we do and where we go – as a family, we do seem to travel a lot. Too much sometimes but my parents tell me “We are making memories.”

Bethany at Rockin The Bowl

My name is Bethany and I am Adam’s twin and like spending time with my Dad although I don’t really like his taste in music, (don’t tell him that). But I go to sample and check out the stalls and food and drink vendors just to make sure what they sell is quality and tasty. Prepare for my views on the stalls, what they sell and what the food and confectionaries taste like at each place we go.

The force is strong with this one!

Finally meet Alexander who attended the Stonedead Festival in August 2021 at the age of 5. Always has a cheeky smile and makes friends wherever he goes (see picture). Likes to explore his surroundings, especially the food vendors and the “facilities” but now has taken up the drums and the trumpet and has wicked dance moves……loves going to the pub, wakes early every day, and sometimes fades early in the evening! He will be giving his opinion on child-friendliness and the best places to sit and drink a beverage.

So what is the idea of this page, pure and simple, it is to record our travels post-Covid 19. This will include days out, holidays, and of course plenty of festival experiences.

We want to let you all know what it’s like being taken away and experiencing the things we do, in the hope that it encourages others to take their young people away and to show them the experiences that sometimes we are deemed too young for, or maybe people think it’s not worth taking us to or it will make us too tired or people simply think that we won’t enjoy it……our parents always involve us and we are encouraged to take part in most experiences together as our parents keep telling us that “we won’t want to do things as a family forever!”

So sit back and enjoy our adventures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
